GTUG Meeting on 27 March 2012

Sergii announced the Google I/O extended event happening in Vienna.
Save the date: 27-29 June 2012 @metalab. It will contain live stream viewing enriched with local content, more information plus a registration form will be announced on the group.

Erik presented the high-level framework Go-Start for the Go language, which is used in production for startuplive.in.

Sergii then presented the idea of the metalab Homepage hackathon. Dates and details still have to be worked out, it will not be a purely Google-related event but everything relevant to the homepage: design, HTML, backend codes, etc. The source code is available at github.com/metalab/mos and is based on Django.

Thorsten (Sales engineer at Google) talked about the marketing of Google Enterprise. Anyone with applications based on Prediction APIs and similar can contact him for potential help in marketing.

Nik from blossom.io reported from their US tour, especially the visit at Google NY and the Google HQ in Mountain View.

And then we had a lightning talk about blueseed from Fabian, off-shore startups near silicon valley.
